This drop-in program for toddlers and preschoolers offers activities to stimulate a child’s mind, curiosity, and creativity. Glorious a cappella from the African-American tradition. Grammy-winning Sweet Honey has been in full voice since 1973; its current six-woman lineup is on tour with a new CD. $20, $10 students. The Bloomington Pops start at 8 pm, but gates open at 5 pm so that you can stake your claim and spread your blanket. Pre-concert activities include games for kids and performances by the Bloomington Community Band and the Spirit of Freedom Jazz Combo. The evening ends with the “1812 Overture” and fireworks.
