A fun 1930s musical parody, Dames at Sea follows Ruby, a small-town girl, who moves to New York City with “nothing but tap shoes in her suitcase and a prayer in her heart,” as she chases her big Broadway dreams!

Monroe Lake’s annual Youth Fishing Derby will be Saturday, June 3 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington.

Kids, ages 16 and under, are invited to participate and should check in at the fishing pier, located across from the swimming beach, by no later than 9:15 a.m.

Free bait will be provided for all participants. Fishing equipment will be available for free use during the derby for any children who do not bring their own. Experienced anglers will be there to help kids who are new to fishing.

A prize drawing for a new fishing pole will be held at 10 a.m. Every child who participates in the derby gets a free entry into the drawing.
