Simple Machine Mania at WonderLab

Lift it! Move it! Explore the science of pulleys and levers as you effortlessly pull yourself high off the ground in a pulley chair, lift a heavy block of stone with the strength of your little finger, design a catapult to lay siege to a castle, build a model of an amusement park ride and more! This exhibit on simple machines will remain at WonderLab from June 05 until September 23.

WonderLab’s hours are 9:30 am to 5 pm Tue-Sat, 1 pm – 5 pm Sunday. Open extended evening hours until 8:30 pm the first Friday of the month.

Little Dipper Sibling Class

This 45-minute class is intended to prepare young children for the arrival of a new sibling, and is appropriate for children aged three to six. An adult must attend with the child. There is no charge for this class, but early registration is encouraged, as class size is limited. Each sibling attending the class will receive a free sibling preparation packet, described below. Please meet in the Center’s waiting lounge just outside of the “E” elevator on the second floor for the nurse to begin the class.

The Hunt for the Golden Rain Tree

Forget about paging through guidebooks and take an interactive approach to identifying trees! Mystery trees in Bryan Park are tagged with clues to their identities-but you need to use a map to decipher the clues and give each mystery tree its correct name. Trees throughout the park will be used for this program, so you’ll be covering lots of ground! Wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle, and branch out in this unique scavenger hunt! Instructors: Sara Stonaha and Derek Greene. Only one registration required for up to four participants. Parents must sign waivers for children onsite
