Bloomington’s three holiday guild shows: Local Clay Potters’ Guild, Bloomington Spinners & Weavers Guild and Bloomington Glass Guild now all together!
Description
Bloomington’s three holiday guild shows: Local Clay Potters’ Guild, Bloomington Spinners & Weavers Guild and Bloomington Glass Guild now all together under one roof at the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center, November 14-15, 2014.

About the Guilds:

Local Clay Potters’ Guild is a group of 22 professional artists living and working in South Central Indiana. The holiday show features functional pottery made from stoneware and porcelain clays, as well as, free standing and wall mounted sculptural pieces. The work is hand built and wheel thrown. Each piece is unique due to the variations in natural materials and the firing process in each kiln. The work is decorated and glazed using a variety of minerals and techniques. The result is a wide range of form, color and texture in these one of a kind pieces. The show is displayed as a gallery setting.

The Bloomington Spinners & Weavers Guild, established in the early 1980’s is made of up 40 professional and non-professional fiber artists. Our mission is to raise public awareness about the fiber arts and to provide a forum for the growth and education for our members. Many in the guild raise fiber producing animals and plants, spin, and hand-dye their yarns. We have sponsored a fall fiber show and sale since 1986. Made from a variety of fibers, the show features quality handcrafted wearable art such as scarves, shawls, and jackets, items for the home such as rugs, blankets, tea towels, and baskets, vintage inspired beaded purses, handmade paper items, and felted works of art. Our members demonstrate spinning and weaving throughout the show.

Bloomington Glass Guild is an organization open to all who dream about glass, work with glass, admire glass or just want to learn more about glass.

This event is for all ages and takes place on 11/14 from 4-9 and 11/15 from 9-5

There will be an Artisans Cafe as well as the Big Cheese food truck!

Cost: Free of admission
