Faces of the Forest

08:00 am to 10:00 am
Crumble Coffee and Bakery, 532 N. College Ave, Bloomington
https://www.fs.usda.gov/hoosier

Encompassing over 200,000 acres of public land spread throughout nine counties in southern Indiana, the Hoosier National Forest touches the lives of countless residents and visitors. Whether you neighbor the forest, visit occasionally, have a favorite spot you’ve loved for years, or have never visited but rely on the forest for watershed protection and clean air, most everyone has some connection to the Hoosier National Forest.

The Hoosier National Forest is one of Indiana’s premier natural treasures, offering high quality, resilient and rare ecosystems that provide diverse outdoor recreational experiences. Proper management demands outstanding stewardship by restoring, maintaining and interpreting our public’s cultural and natural resources.

With such a large and diverse mission, it can be difficult to learn all there is to know about the Hoosier. We have created two opportunities for you to get to know the forest and forest leadership in a personal way. The District Ranger and Forest Supervisor will be available to meet one-on-one and engage in casual conversations about whatever aspect of the forest you are most interested in.

• District Ranger Michelle Paduani,
• Behind the Times Bakery, 411 Main St., Tell City, Perry County
• Wednesday, September 11th 8-9:30 (CDT)

• Forest Supervisor Mike Chaveas
• Crumble Coffee and Bakery, 532 North College Avenue, Bloomington, Monroe County
• Friday, September 20th 8-10 (EDT)

Everyone is welcome to stop by and visit with these USDA Forest Service employees and ask any questions about the forest.
