Furs, Fins, and Feathers

All kinds of animals will be highlighted at Paynetown State Recreation Area during Furs, Fins, and Feathers on Saturday, Sep. 15.

The first scheduled program, an electrofishing demo, is at 12:30 p.m. Open fishing, with equipment and bait all provided, runs from 2 to 4 p.m.

Additional afternoon activities include aging whitetail deer from their teeth, learning the differences between aquatic mammals, and exploring waterfowl feathers.

Live snakes will be featured at a 4 p.m. presentation. The event then wraps up at 7 p.m. with a live raptor presentation by Adam Naugle of the Indiana Falconers Association.

Cost: Property entrance fee is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plates, $9 per vehicle with out-of-state plates.
