Potpourri of the Arts

07:30 pm
IU Auditorium
http://www.iuauditorium.com/events/detail/potpourri-2018

The African American Arts Institute, Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies, and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs is proud to present the 25th annual Potpourri of the Arts. Since 1993, the Potpourri is IU’s greatest celebration of African American performance with its three ensembles: the African American Dance Company, the African American Choral Ensemble, and the IU Soul Revue.

With a wide range of music and choreography, these unique ensembles are sure to exhilarate audiences with their individual and combined performances. The African American Dance Company will share a broad range of movement and dance traditions from America and the African Diaspora, including African, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and other cultural forms. Then, hear the best of African American spirituals, gospel, and formally-composed works with the African American Choral Ensemble. To complete the line-up, IU Soul Revue will perform dynamic Black popular music—including R&B, soul, funk, and contemporary music styles.

To top off the evening, all three ensembles will grace the stage together in a collaborative finale piece. Don’t miss this incredible and celebratory event.

Cost: IUB Students: $15 / General Admission Seating: $30 (general public) / $15 (students and children) / $10 (groups of 10 or more)
