Surrealistic Bloomington, the Paintings of Ray Perigo and the Metal Sculpture of Upbeat Art

05:00 pm to 07:00 pm
The Venue

Beginning Friday, October 5th, at 5:00p.m. for Gallery Walk and the month of October, The Venue will host the showing and sale of surrealistic paintings by Ray Perigo and metal sculptures by Upbeat Art.
Surrealism began in the 1920’s and represented an artistic break with reality, and unleashing or the subconscious, using realistic techniques but combining familiar objects in ways that they never occur in nature. Homage to a non-rational world. It’s primary proponents were Breton, Dali, Ernst and Magritte.
You will not find melted clocks in Ray Perigo’s paintings, but you will find vividly colored oils with floating objects and geometrical islands. In Upbeat Art, the work of The Fulcher’s, you will find metal flowers, growing out of rock. These objects de arte prove that artistic creativity can never truly be contained, not even by mother nature.
It’s a Gallery Walk, so we will be treating you to gourmet soup, and other taste delights, all for free. Our extraordinary collection of other art and gifts will also be on display for purchase.
