Thai Yoga Basics Workshop: An Introduction to Traditional Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton) is offered by EquiLibrium Thai Massage & Yoga Therapy in Bloomington Indiana, and hosted by Touchstone Wellness.
We invite you to learn about and experience the art of Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton), a traditional Thai movement and self-care practice which is thought to pre-date Hatha yoga and has origins deep in the Himalayas. For those practicing Thai massage, this is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the source and premise upon which Thai massage was based before the current, modernized system was developed. For those who enjoy yoga and other movement and breath-based practices, Reusi Dat Ton provides a different perspective on the use of breath as well as insight into mobilizing the spine, neck, hips, and other joints.
* Historical background and influences of Reusi Dat Ton
* Beginning poses, stretches, balances
* Unique breath-work as used in Reusi Dat Ton
* Self-care techniques including acupressure, massage, nerve stretches
Simple stretches and warm-up movements as well as basic breath-work will warm the body in the morning, energizing and more challenging poses will be introduced during the course of the day, and cooling, calming techniques at the close of the day.
If you are a massage therapist or body worker, enjoy yoga or are a yoga instructor, practice eastern medicine, homeopathy, naturopathy, or are in an allied health field, practice T’ai Chi or Qigong, are a dancer or movement therapist… All are welcome! 8 CEs are applicable toward ABMP, NCBTMB, and Yoga Alliance continuing education requirements.
