Bloom Magazine celebrated its ninth anniversary on August 13 with a gala in the Tudor Room at the Indiana Memorial Union. More than 200 business and civic leaders, educators, members of the arts community, and contributors to the magazine attended the event. The Vallures provided the music, and IMU Executive Chef Damian Esposito and his staff provided the sumptuous fare.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the ninth annual Bloomie Awards for the best ads of 2013–14. Selected from more than 700 ads, the winners were Greene & Shultz, Griffin Realty, Hoosier Artist Gallery, Janko’s Little Zagreb, MarDon Salon, Oliver Winery, and WFIU.

The Grand Bloomie winners were selected by a vote of party attendees, and for the first time, there was a tie for first place. Distinctive Home Furnishings and Pictura Gallery were the first-place winners, while Textillery Weavers came in third.
