From September 8 to September 24, Cardinal Stage Company will be accepting donations for the Monroe County Humane Association during performances of Garfield: The Musical with Cattitude at the Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center.

In previous years, Cardinal has collected funds for My Sister’s Closet, raising $5,000, and Bloomington PRIDE, raising $3,500. This year’s donations will contribute to medical assistance for pets, humane education, and the VIPaws program, which provides animal-related therapies in the Bloomington community. Animal guests from VIPaws will visit with theater-goers at the opening and closing performances and will also be at WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology after the morning performance of Garfield on September 16.

The musical–which tells the story of the popular cartoon character Garfield and his fears that his friends have forgotten his birthday–is recommended for ages 3 and up. The runtime is about one hour. For show times or to purchase tickets, visit cardinalstage.org. –Sophie Bird
