Peter Oren (http://peteroren.com) is a fine singer-songwriter from Columbus, IN where he now resides when not on the road looking to protest assault on the environment. This will be Peter’s first Showcase with us – and he came to us via one of our organizers – Brandon Pfeiffer. Here is what one of his fans had to say about this terrific young songwriter in a NUVO Magazine article from 2013:

Joe Pug (Austin TX artist) says, “I go out and see music quite a bit. But [outside of Austin] actually there’s a guy from Bloomington, Ind., a really, really super young guy. He’s maybe 20 or 21-years-old. He opened for us the last time we were in Bloomington, plays under the name Swales. He writes really cool songs and has a great voice. He came up with us to Chicago to open for us over the summer. He’s super young and I think the sky is the limit for him. He’s a really creative writer and he has a really idiosyncratic and beautiful voice.” (Nov. 2013, NUVO.)

Oren will share the stage with Country / Southern Blues songwriter Daryl Robinson (www.facebook.com/Daryl-Robinson) who is an award-winning singer-songwriter working from his home base of Bedford, IN.

Laura Lashbrooks (www.MySpace.com/LauraLashbrooks) brings some delicate, beautiful songs to the program this evening. Laura has many fans who love her sound and songs. She’s a busy person ‘in real life’ and we appreciate her taking the time to include us in her busy schedule. We look forward to many more programs with her! T

his evening is our monthly “Open ‘Share-a-Chair’” evening, where we keep one of the 4 feature writers chairs open and rotate new talent on that spot throughout the evening. We’ve discovered some of our finest new talent this way and heard some new tunes that some of the more seasoned singer-songwriters have shared as well. If interested in procuring a spot to do a tune, email us at [email protected] and we’ll try to fit you in! Spots are limited so it’s a great idea to sign up early.
NO COVER CHARGE – MUST BE 21+ to enter Bears Place back room Concert Hall.

Cost: FREE!
