https://libraries.indiana.edu/meet-seeds-heirloom-seed-exhibitworkshop-and-seed-return-day

See examples of ripe seed as it appears when ready for collection from the garden accompanied by the “finished” seed after it has been cleaned and prepared for storage. Join us for an educational workshop to learn more about seed saving. We will discuss why seed saving is important to us today and the benefits of collecting your own seed. Learn basic seed saving techniques, how to successfully obtain viable seeds that are true to type from open-pollinated plants. Observe some of the best methods for collecting, cleaning and storing your seed for future use. Learn about germination testing for seed viability. Experts will be available to answer your gardening questions.

Meet other seed savers and enjoy some refreshments!
