Women’s fashions come in two flavors — the inexpensive wear-it-for-a season item or the high-end investment piece that becomes a wardrobe staple. Andrew Davis Women’s Fashion specializes in the latter.

Since opening alongside Andrew Davis Clothiers at 101 W. Kirkwood in September 2012, the store has concentrated on carrying modern classic fashions that are not available elsewhere in Bloomington. Some of the store’s new lines are Equipment silk blouses, Vince cashmere sportswear, Rebecca Minkoff accessories and handbags, UK brands Ted Baker and Barbour, J Brand denim, Lafayette 148, and Elizabeth and James sportswear.

“Our merchandise is high end for Bloomington,” says Aimee Blunk, a sales consultant who helped with the opening. “For instance, we are the only store in Indiana currently carrying Emy Mack shoes. Emy Mack was a designer at Jimmy Choo. We carry limited runs of many of our specialty items so you don’t have any embarrassing ‘who wore it better?’ US Weekly moments!”

The store’s customer base is broad, according to Alexandra Jones, who performs community outreach for the store. “Women from eighteen to eighty are shopping here. We get a lot of mothers and daughters coming in together, and they both find something that looks great on them,” she says. “Customer service is very important to us. If we don’t have something, we’ll try our best to get it. If it doesn’t look great on you, we’ll tell you, and help you find something that does.”
