The Hair Arts Academy held its biannual hair show Oct. 18 at their studios. In preparation for the big show, academy students were required to create a hairstyle, design a costume, and apply makeup for their models. Twice a year, students and staff vote on a theme, then it’s up to the participating students to interpret and execute the theme. Although the theme is announced three months in advance, students have only eight hours to complete their creative tasks before the judging begins. Salon owners, color specialists, and artistic companies are invited to watch and possibly recruit students. October’s show was billed as Fantasy and Fairytale. How did the students fare? You be the judge. Just scroll down.
