Local lawyers speak about the use and importance of advance directives, the legal documents that provide instruction to healthcare providers in event of incapacity. At the end of each program, attendees may sign up to be matched with a volunteer attorney who will provide individualized advice and prepare advance directives for attendees, free of charge. Come join us for some friendly and fun competitive events where you can apply all the things you have learned at Mad 4 My Dog Training! Then we’ll have our first Carnival for dogs where we’ll play and laugh all afternoon. OF course you’ll win prizes too! Also present will be vendors who will show you some great products for your, or help you document the day with a professional photo or a caricature of you and your dog! There will be demonstrations of different types of training we do at M4MD, and we will be conducting a charity drive for the local Humane Association, Shelter, and Rescues. Come out the for the premier pet dog event of the summer!

The 30th Annual American Red Cross Book Fair will be held October 3 – 8, 2013 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, Commercial Building West. There will be 100,000 gently used books, CDs, videos, DVDs, cassettes, records, games, puzzles, maps, sheet music, and many other items for sale at very reasonable prices.
Opening day admission is $10, but the rest of the week’s attendance is free. Please call to receive a Book Fair bookmark with dates, times (vary from day to day) and specials listed. All proceeds from the Book Fair benefit Red Cross disaster relief, service to military families, and emergency preparedness services in Monroe and Owen Counties.
