Sister Cities Day Fiesta

Bloomington has two sister cities and the Bloomington volunteers representing each city will be hosting a fiesta at the Bloomington Farmers’ Market on Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 9am – noon. Come join in the celebration and learn more about Bloomington’s two sister cities – Santa Clara, Cuba, and Posoltega, Nicaragua. There will be dancing, music, activities for children and more.

9:00 – Noon Meet two artists from Cuba. Madelin Perez Noa and Octavio Carvajal are coming to Bloomington to create a mural for our city later this month. They will be present and do face-painting at our celebration!

10:00 – The Youth Company of Windfall Dancers

11:00 – Ritmos Latinos, a local dance group specializing in Cuban Salsa

11:30 – Music by Isaac Salazar, a Bloomington resident formerly from Posoltega, Nicaragua

Find us on the Showers Plaza, or inside the atrium of City Hall if there is rain.
