On Friday, November 13, Indiana University will premiere a series of documentaries called “IU 2020,” which follows 12 undergraduate students over the course of four years of study at IU.

Inspired by the coming-of-age film Boyhood, which made history by filming the same cast over a 12-year period, the “IU 2020” series follows these 12 students from 2016–2020, chronicling their growth as students and individuals. The students come from diverse backgrounds and academic areas, including business, anthropology, music, and neuroscience.

The films, created by IU student filmmakers, will be screened virtually by IU Cinema over the next several months, beginning with a screening of the first three documentaries on November 13 at 7 p.m. A screening of three more films will be held virtually on Tuesday, December 8, at 7 p.m. Each documentary short film is about 20 minutes long and is followed by a Q&A session with the subjects and filmmakers.
