Bloom Magazine has been awarded 12 Best in Indiana Journalism awards by the Indiana Professional Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists.

Among these awards are five first-place honors, including awards for the cover stories “VOTE: What’s At State for Bloomington & The Country” and “Heroes of the Pandemic.”

Bloom also received first-place honors in the Personality Profile and Design Other Than Cover categories, and the Bloom book, “The Killer Who Fell From the Sky” received a second-place award for best non-fiction book.

The awards were presented during a virtual ceremony on Monday, June 14.

“I’m extremely pleased that ‘VOTE: What’s At Stake’ and ‘Heroes of the Pandemic’ were winners,” says Editor and Publisher Malcolm Abrams. “I think these are two stories that show our concern for our city and country and the resiliency of our citizens.”
