“The Peace of Nowness” Seminar

Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, 3655 Snoddy Rd.

The Contemplative Psychotherapy Institute (CPI) will present its initial public program offering, a one-day workshop, on June 14th at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center (TMBCC). The seminar, titled “The Peace of Nowness,” will be directed by Chuck Whetsell. The workshop begins is a day long session. The event is open to the public.

The CPI is a fresh approach to employing the knowledge and insights that have been refined through thousands of years of contemplative mind science. The knowledge gleaned from the world’s wisdom traditions are directed at training western mental health practitioners who have an interest in applied meditation approaches for clinical work.

Housed within the TMBCC, the CPI is non-religious and non-sectarian and is not affiliated with any particular school or approach to meditation and its clinical applications. Ecumenical in its outreach, the CPI invites teachers who are steeped in the personal practice and study of contemplative mind science. These individuals are those who have demonstrated success in translating their experience into clinical work as mental health professionals.

All friends of the TMBCC are invited to participate in this one-day workshop whether or not they work in the field of mental health. The day will be highly experiential and suitable for anyone who has ever experienced anxiety. For professionals, continuing education hours may be earned.

The TMBCC is located at 3655 South Snoddy Road in Bloomington. For additional information regarding CPI contact 812, 336-6807 or the official website for CPI:

Exhibit: ‘Awake to a Dream’ at the Farmer House Museum

10:00 am
Farmer House Museum (529 N. College Ave.)
http://thefarmerhousemuseum.wix.com/homepage

The Bellevue Group is pleased to present Awake To A Dream, a solo exhibition of new work by Lena Burkett.

Burkett is a native of southern Indiana and has considered Bloomington her home since 2001. Her art is informed by her interest in world myth and religions and the intertwining of culture, history, music and poetry. She has a true passion for painting. Her paintings strive to create an imaginary world of forms on top of the real world. She has said about the exhibition that she is pleased and excited to share her work with the community that she has grown to love and hopes that they enjoy viewing them as much as she has enjoyed creating them.

Exhibit runs until the end of July. Operating hours are 10 am – 3 pm Wednesday-Sunday.
