Instructor: Chelsea Schoch

Participants will learn the fundamental shapes of calligraphy in the script style of copperplate, using a dip pen and a flexible nib. All materials provided (valued at $40) are yours to keep and included in the workshop fee.

In this 3-hour afternoon class participants will build a foundational understanding of tools and techniques to build both the lowercase and uppercase alphabets, as well as a few flourishes, giving them the confidence to continue to study with a provided kit of materials and resources.

This course is designed for anyone looking for a fun, relaxed afternoon of exploring a truly enjoyable artistic medium. Open to those who have never picked up a calligraphy pen before, or more experienced students looking to add a new script to their toolkit. Make it even more memorable by signing up with a friend or two! Limited to 10 spots so reserve your space now!

An Important Message from Bloom Magazine

For the past 14 years, we have been publishing Bloom, a free, bimonthly cultural and lifestyle magazine serving Bloomington, Indiana, and surrounding communities. We have four missions: to support local businesses, local charities, local arts, and diversity. We are an integral part of the fabric of this community.

Like so many small businesses (4 employees), we are facing huge challenges in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to continue producing the magazine and our website, magbloom.com, but we need your help.

Please consider donating to our GoFundMe drive using the link below. Thank you!
