Little Hikers: Maple and Pine Nature Time

Learn the basics of making maple syrup and other wild edibles. The fire will be warm and we’ll make nature crafts to take home. Geared toward children and their families.

Free monthly lunch hour meditation at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, located at 114 E Kirkwood Ave in downtown Bloomington.

Meditation from 12-12:50pm

Doors at 11:30am

Cultivate inner peace through seated meditation, walking meditation, Tai Chi, QiGong, yoga, or your own style of stillness. Enjoy periods of silence accompanied by soothing live meditative music. This event is open to all. There is no cost to attend.

February 13 musical guest: Jerry Miller, with hollow body acoustic/electric guitar.

Being Bloomington: Being Peace is an initiative to create a welcoming space for private meditation, peaceful reflection, and personal wellbeing, in a central, nonpartisan community environment.

The intention is to create a space where all people can deeply relax and find peace within.

Songwriter OPEN MIC – 3rd Tuesdays at Bears Place Back Room

Are you a Songwriter who would enjoy performing a couple of your own songs in a really cool environment? Beginning Feb. 13, 2019 – Bears Place will host a Songwriter Open Mic. Songwriters will sign up to perform up to 2 songs / turn – and will take turns with other Singer-Songwriters throughout the evening. From the beginner to the experienced Songwriter – you are welcome. Must be 21 or older to enter the Back Room at Bears Place as part of the Audience, but you can perform as long as you hang out in the front room until it’s your turn. We’re working on that!!
