Ghostly Gathering

01:00 pm to 09:30 pm
Paynetown State Recreation Area
http://bit.ly/monroelakeprograms

Monroe Lake’s popular Halloween event, Ghostly Gathering, returns to Paynetown State Recreation Area on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29.

Activities begin during late afternoon on Friday. You can design a custom trick-or-treat bag between 3 and 5:15 p.m., explore the history and lore of jack-o-lanterns at 5:30 p.m., and learn about the natural history of zombies at 8 p.m.

Saturday programs start in the early afternoon with a creepy, crawly craft session from 1 to 3 p.m., a costume contest for all ages (plus dogs!) at 4 p.m., and trick-or-treating in the campground from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event wraps up on Saturday night with a Halloween party from 8 to 9:30 p.m. with food, games, and other fun.

All activities are open to day visitors, as well as campers. Campsite reservations can be made at camp.IN.gov.

“If you want to camp, don’t wait too long to make your reservation. We expect the campground to completely fill for this year’s event,” noted Jill Vance, Monroe Lake’s interpretive naturalist.

Campers can also compete for prizes in a campsite decorating contest. Winners are determined by people’s choice voting during the trick-or-treat time period.

Full event details are available on the DNR’s online calendar at bit.ly/monroelakeprograms.
Questions should be directed to the Paynetown Activity Center at 812-837-9967 or [email protected].

There is a Property Entrance Fee to enter Paynetown SRA of $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plate, or $9 per vehicle for out-of-state. Paynetown SRA is located at 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
By Christopher Durang

Directed by Jonathan Michaelsen

The tranquility of siblings Vanya and Sonia’s uneventful home life is comically disrupted by the return of their movie star sister Masha, who owns the house. She brings with her unwelcome drama, a preening (and usually shirtless) young lover named Spike, and the devastating news of her plans to sell the house. Now all they need to reconcile is Snow White, a voodoo doll, and a play about the destruction of the earth.

Performance dates include October 21, 22, 25 – 28, 2016 at 7:30 pm and October 29 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Thank you Associate Producers and Theatre Circle Members Anne and Jim Bright for supporting this production.
