The most important election of our lifetimes will soon be taking place. Many of you have probably already voted by mail or plan to vote early in person in the coming days. Then, on November 3, America officially goes to the polls.
With tens of millions of mail-in votes expected, the final result of the election will likely not be known for a week or weeks after November 3.
But for all intents and purposes, the moment of truth is upon us now.
After all the hype, speeches, debates, news reports, books, commercials, and social media, in the end, I believe how people vote comes down to a few basic questions:
Are you and your family better off today than you were four years ago?
Yes or No
Do you feel the country is better off today than it was four years ago?̈
Yes or No
Is Bloomington better off today than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
Is the economy better today than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
Fact: The United States has 4% of the world’s population yet more than 20% of COVID-19 cases and deaths. Do you think everything possible was done to save the lives of American citizens?
Yes or No
Do you and your family feel safer today than you did four years ago?
Yes or No
Would you like your children to grow up with Donald Trump as a role model?
Yes or No
Is your health care better today than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
Is our planet in better condition than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
Is America more respected in the world today than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
Is America less divided today than it was four years ago?
Yes or No
I hope you will answer these questions honestly and vote accordingly.
If you answered “yes” to most of these questions, then you should vote to reelect Donald Trump for another four years.
If you answered “no” to the majority of these questions, then you should vote to elect Joe Biden.
How you vote will decide what kind of nation we are going to be and what kind of world we will leave for our children.
