Bloom Magazine celebrated its sixth anniversary on August 9 with a gala in the Tudor Room at the Indiana Memorial Union.
The event was attended by more than 200 business and civic leaders, educators, members of the arts community, and contributors to the magazine.
Janiece Jaffe and Curtis Cantwell Jackson and Friends provided the music, BLU Boy Chocolate Café and Cakery baked the fabulous cake, The Awards Center supplied the awards, and IMU Executive Chef Damian Esposito and his staff provided the sumptuous fare.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the sixth annual “Bloomie Awards” for the best ads of 2011-2012. Selected from more than 800 ads that appeared in Bloom, the winners were IU School of Optometry, DCSI MediSpa, Cactus Flower, Oliver Winery, By Hand Gallery, IU Foundation, Herndon Design, Urban Cycle Studio, and IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
The “Grand Bloomie” winners, selected by a vote of party attendees, were Relish, Pictura Gallery, and Angel B’s A Galleria of Cakes.
