From June 13 to June 15, 2017, WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology will offer its free Summer Science Institute for 8th to 12th grade science teachers from local schools. In its 12th year, the Institute covers topics from life science to engineering and technology, and will feature activities on design and prototyping, and climate science and evolutionary biology.

Participating teachers will each receive a $350 stipend, classroom materials, a free science demo for their classes, professional growth points, and a 20 percent discount at the WonderLab gift shop.

“WonderLab’s goal for the Summer Science Institute is to energize teachers about science,” says Karen Jepson-Innes, executive director at WonderLab. “We want to help them become more effective STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering and Math] educators and give them more confidence. We also want to provide exciting content and activities to teach in their own classrooms.”   –Sophie Bird
