‘Bloom’ Book Named a Finalist for Best Book of the Year

The Bloom book, The Killer Who Fell From The Sky, has been named a finalist for Best Non-Fiction Book by the Indy Pro Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists.

The Killer Who Fell From the Sky is a 196-page anthology of stories from Bloom about the people, places, and events that make Bloomington unique. Proceeds from the sale of the book have gone to benefit Shalom Community Center.

In addition to The Killer Who Fell From the Sky, Bloom has received 11 other awards for stories, photographs, graphic design, and illustrations produced in 2020. These awards highlight the August/September 2020 cover story, “Heroes of the Pandemic,” the October/November 2020 cover story, “VOTE: What’s At Stake for Bloomington & The Country,” and the December 2020/January 2021 cover image by local artist Joe Lee.

Winners from among the finalists will be announced during a virtual award ceremony on Monday, June 14.
