Though it is a popular destination in summer, many people never experience Lake Monroe during winter. Ice and snow cover the landscape, transforming it into a completely new environment. The interaction of sunlight and ice create an amazing array of colors each morning at dawn. Frigid temperatures pull the humidity out of the air so that the morning light takes on more vivid hues.
