A Summer Storm at Assembly Hall

Written by

Bloomington is often the site of some pretty crazy summer storms. It is not often, however, that we get to see photos of lightning with local landmarks. Darryl Smith, a local photographer, was out late Monday July 2 to photograph a rainless lightning storm.

This image was taken at IU’s Assembly Hall just after midnight. Smith says it did not rain because “the storms formed over and around Bloomington as opposed to moving in from the west as they normally would.”
