Trees will be accepted for disposal between December 27 and January 17. No artificial trees will be accepted. All ornaments, tinsel, lights and hooks must be removed. The District’s Recycling Centers are located throughout Monroe County, including Ellettsville, New Unionville, Bloomington’s South and West Sides, and its main recycling facility at 3400 South Walnut Street in Bloomington. Our topic for December is Carrion Eaters. We’ll explore the unique lifestyles of the Turkey Vulture and the Black Vulture, both of which are found at Monroe Lake, and learn how to recognize them up-close and in-flight. Afterwards, we’ll take a short walk to view one of several vulture roosts.
