Champions of 1919 Anniversary Reception

The players of the 1918-1919 Bloomington High School team left Lafayette on March 15th, 1919, as state champions. Often undersized and out-skilled, the speed of the “Little Giants” defeated five teams in three days. After outscoring the host school Lafayette 18-15 in the final, the BHS team cemented their place in Monroe County history.

A special presentation about this historic season by Roger F. Robison will begin at 6 pm.

The Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University Bloomington is pleased to present this year’s BFA Thesis Exhibitions. These exhibitions feature work created by graduating Bachelors of Fine Arts students in the School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University. As the culmination of their undergraduate studies, the thesis exhibitions give the BFA students the valuable experience of developing and installing a body of work. Each exhibition features student work from a variety of studio areas: ceramics, digital art, graphic design, metalsmithing and jewelry design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.

BFA 1 features the work of Sydney Brink (Sculpture), Tommy DeNardo (Graphic Design), Ting Lien (Sculpture), Takura Suzuki (Painting), Xinyu Wang (Textiles) and Cara Yoder (Graphic Design).

Ron “Tater Salad” White, best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the “Blue Collar Comedy” phenomenon, makes his return to Bloomington with his new stand-up show.

White has achieved three Grammy nominations, a Gold Record, two of the top rated one-hour specials in Comedy Central history, a book that appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List, and CD and DVD sales of over 10 million units.

Most Recently, White can be seen in music-industry vet Cameron Crowe, and renowned director JJ Abrams’ new Showtime series, Roadies. White plays road-tested tour manager Phil, in a critically praised performance.
