This class meets the Department of Insurance pre-licensing classroom requirements for Life, Accident and Health Insurance. Attendance is mandatory at each session. Strength training is recommended to help keep muscles toned and bones dense. Certified instructors will use equipment such as body bars, hand weights, and stability balls to create a variety of workouts. This one-hour strength class will use exercises that are functionally appropriate for all and will create an overall toning experience for the entire body. When your toddler or preschool child hits the turf field at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center, they will be ready to run and play! An indoor turf field provides you and your young child with ample space to run, play on an obstacle course, and practice ball throwing and kicking skills. This free-time play is parent supervised while the TLRC provides all the equipment for an hour of healthy physical play. Exhibit: The Art of Daniel Lager at The Venue

Beginning Friday, May 4th, at 6:00 pm, The Venue will host a new exhibit of the works of Daniel Lager. A Venue favorite, Dan’s paintings, in enamel and on the reverse side of glass, are “bright, whimsical, and a joy for the eye.” With growing national recognition, you will be pleased and rewarded by adding a Lager to your collection.

Refreshments will be provided by The Venue and our complete collection of Fine Art and Gifts will also be on display for viewing and purchase. Parking is available in the lot on the corner of 4th and Grant.

This show will run during regular hours at The Venue until May 17th.

An atrium installation of furniture from the Wells Collection will be on display for viewing.

Town and Gown: A Book Celebration of Local History

An event celebrating the release of two historically significant books—The Showers Brothers Furniture Company: The Shared Fortunes of a Family, a City, and a University by Carrol Krause, and Herman B Wells: The Promise of the American University by James H. Capshew. Mayor Mark Kruzan and Indiana University Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs Tom Gieryn will introduce the authors who will read from and sign books. Personal items from Herman B Wells will be displayed, including a Victorian rocker, revolving bookcase, Book Nook certificate, lamp, rug, and photo. Books will be available for purchase at a 20% off discount.
