On Thursday, November 29 at 4:00 PM in Room 100 of the Psychology Building at Indiana University, Alva Noë, Professor of Philosophy at UC Berkeley, will give a public lecture on styles of seeing.

“Is vision natural? Or might seeing come in styles or genres, each constituted at least in part by cultural admixture? In this talk I explore a specific instance of this kind of possible entanglement of nature and culture, specifically, the effects of pictoriality on vision. I explore a remarkable and exciting upshot of these considerations.”

This event is presented by the Center for Theoretical Inquiry in the Humanities at Indiana University. This talk is part of the Center’s Fall Lecture Series on Play.
