The City of Bloomington’s annual Performing Arts Series and Movies in the Parks Series are continuing with outdoor, socially distanced events this season.

As part of the Performing Arts Series, local musicians perform free concerts on Thursdays and Sundays at outdoor venues like Bryan Park, Peoples Park, and Switchyard Park.

This year’s lineup includes groups like the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, Craig & The Crawdads, and the Janiece Jaffee Trio.

This Sunday, August 2, King Bee & The Stingers and The Movin’ Hips will perform at Bryan Park. The back-to-back blues shows will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are required for entry, but admission is free.

The 2020 Movies in the Parks Series will run through Friday, October 2. On August 8, the series will show O Brother, Where Art Thou? in Bryan Park. On August 21, attendees can return to Bryan Park for a screening of The Princess Bride. Tickets are required for all films, but admission is free.

At all entertainment events, masks are required when moving outside of designated, socially distanced seating areas.
