People & Animal Learning Services (PALS) invites the community to the first ever PALS Barn Bash & BBQ! This fun, family-friendly event will take place on August 1st, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the PALS facility (7644 W. Elwren Rd.). Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, featuring local BBQ, live bluegrass and folk music, dancing, horseback riding mini-sessions*, pony painting and much more! PALS will offer guided tours of their new facility at scheduled times throughout the event. Varieties of dance will be taught by National Grand Champion and owner/founder of The Beauty of Dance is Only a Step Away! Mary Hoedeman. All proceeds from the event support PALS participation in the 2015 Dancing with Celebrities competition. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, and go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, July 15th. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event through PALS Staff, Board Members, and the Trojan Horse Restaurant & Tavern, or at the door on the day of the event. Mitchell Opera House presents: The Nostalgia Band

The Nostalgia Band, directed by Frank Battaglia, will be performing at the Mitchell Opera House on August 1, 2015 at 7pm. Organized in early 1994 in Bedford, IN, the band has approximately 20 members and plays an assortment of big band, jazz, rock, and Latin music. The band features music from the 30’s and 40’s, and plays more modern sounds in the light jazz style.
