Madness, Sadness & Bad Behavior: 11th Annual Celebration of Broadway and Opera

02:00 pm to 03:15 pm

The hills are alive with the sounds of our eleventh annual concert of Broadway and opera! Richard Lewis and concert regulars Anna Singer, Robert Chafin and Michael Borowitz are back to present a series of questionable personal choices set to toe-tapping tunes by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Johann Strauss, Verdi and more. Our mad, sad characters indulge in bad behavior in Parisian nightclubs, a Salzburg nunnery and a Spanish fortress. In this concert, we seek once again to benefit the literacy and Arts Integration programs at Fairview Elementary School in Bloomington, Indiana. We thank you for your incredible generosity, totaling over $16,000 since 2014, and hope that you will assist these student programs once again when our support is even more critical. We’ll provide more information about the school programs during our event as well as options for you to give securely online or by check. We’ll see you on August 29 on the “Richard Lewis Opera and Broadway Channel” at YouTube.com!

http://cjamcenter.org/community-voices/

Join the Community Voices for Health project for an evening of food, conversation, and fun prize drawings! The event will bring community members together with decision-makers to talk about how our community makes decisions that affect health. That can mean housing, parks, food, medical care, etc. The goal is to join our voices to find ways to be sure many perspectives are heard and considered. An in-person session will take place on August 29th from 3 to 5 pm at the Monroe County Public Library, and a Zoom session will take place on September 14th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Participants can attend one or both sessions. To register, please email [email protected] or visit our Eventbrite page. Accommodations, including childcare and transportation, are available to eliminate any barriers to participation.
