Bloomington’s hallmark of the holiday season.

Celebrate the season with Bloomington’s most anticipated holiday musical event. Chimes of Christmas returns to IU Auditorium this December to usher in the holiday magic!

For generations, audiences have delighted in this uplifting holiday spectacular—featuring magical performances by some of our favorite Jacob School of Music ensembles, and led by IU’s Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble, the Singing Hoosiers. Over the past few seasons, Chimes of Christmas has been catapulted into the 21st century with a fresh new look, innovative repertoire, and oodles of energy.

A family-friendly event with special discounts for children, Chimes is the perfect way to start the season’s celebrations. Plus, with the addition of a matinee performance, it’s easy for all to enjoy the enthusiastically performed holiday carols and surprise appearance of a jovial Santa.

“[Chimes of Christmas] is known every year as the most cheerful and family-friendly event among all of the Bloomington public,” Bloomington resident June Quivers said in the Indiana Daily Student. “I love attending it every year in time for the Christmas season, and I will continue going as long as they have it. It really is that spectacular.”

Ly Wilder, director; Duane Davis, associate director; featuring Jeff Nelsen, Nina Nelsen, the African American Choral Ensemble, Syncopation (from BEAT), and the IU Horn Choir; with pre-concert music by the IU Trombone Choir

05:00 pm to 07:00 am
Showers Common and along Madison St.
https://www.facebook.com/events/470765189729321/

Krampus Night has become a signature event of Bloomington’s holiday season.

This year, family-friendly Krampus Night has expanded to include more crafts, more photo opportunities and more chances for up-close time with the Krampus. (Can you survive the Krampus gauntlet we’re calling “Harm’s Way?”) The Krampus Bazaar is open for everyone to enjoy 5:00-7:00pm.

And of course, the Krampus Parade is the must-see event of December. Starting at 6:00pm, you can follow the Krampus north along Madison St., beginning at Third St. and ending at Showers Commons.

Naughty or nice? You choose.
