BCGC Community Mural Painting Day June 5

01:00 pm to 06:00 pm
Bloomington Creative Glass Center 229 W. Grimes Ln. Bloomington, IN 47403
http://www.bloomingtoncreativeglasscenter.org

The Bloomington Creative Glass Center invites the Bloomington community to come together to help us bring our newest art project to life! We are creating a 27 foot long paint-by-number mural on the side of our building, along the north entrance of Switchyard Park. The mural is designed by artist Carol Hedin, a local collage and stained glass artist. Everyone is invited to come paint a section during BCGC’s inaugural First Saturday event on June 5th, 1:00-6:00 pm. Come with friends, family, and everyone in between and get your creative juices flowing while painting a section of our mural. We will also have fresh food on hand care of La Poblana Taco truck, JD’s Taste of Chicago food truck, and The Chocolate Moose! Our First Saturday event will be held at Bloomington Creative Glass Center at 229 W Grimes Ln, Bloomington, IN 47403.
If you cannot paint June 5th, we will have other painting opportunities throughout the month of June. Check out our website for other dates. www.bcgcglass.org
The finished panels will be installed on the west and south sides of BCGC, alongside the Grimes entrance to Switchyard Park. Our goal is to help brighten up the outside of our center as well as the surrounding neighborhood. This community effort aims to bring the public together in a fun, and meaningful way through art this summer.
This project is funded in part by the Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) and the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association(BUEA) through the Recover Forward Grants for the Arts. It is also supported by our arts partners, Bloomington Paint and Wallpaper, Lowe’s and Loren Wood Builders.
