Good Rockin’ Live – A Salute to Sun Records

07:30 pm
Brown County Playhouse (70 S. Van Buren St., Nashville)
http://www.browncountyplayhouse.org

TWO NIGHTS ONLY! This live concert event pays tribute to the birth of rock and roll and the music legends that Sun Records helped propel to stardom. In 1952, Sun Studios opened up shop in a small storefront in Memphis, TN, setting off a chain of events that would change the course of musical history. In a few short years, this little record company produced superstars such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and B.B. King. Good Rockin’ LIVE! Stars Robert Shaw and Michael Goodman, from the Chicago, New York and touring casts of the hit musical “Million Dollar Quartet,” and Ross Martinie Eiler with the Lonely Street Band. With hits like Great Balls of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues, That’s All Right Mama, and Blue Suede Shoes, tells the tale of how rock was born through the music and stories of those who lived it. BC beer and wine sold in the auditorium.

Cost: $22/$19 student, senior, military/vet
