http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2954.htm

Paynetown SRA is offering a special program, “The Life of a Tree,” designed for children ages 4 to 8 on Thursday, July 17 at 10 a.m.

During this 75 to 90-minute program, children will explore the different stages of a tree’s life on an easy hike through the forest, listen to a classic story (“The Giving Tree”) in a woodland amphitheater, and then make a tree “cookie” necklace.

The program is free and no registration is necessary. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should meet the naturalist at the Overflow Parking Area, which is on the right after passing the Paynetown Entrance Gatehouse.

In the event of inclement weather, please call the Paynetown Activity Center at 812-837-9967 between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on July 17 to check program status.

Cost: $5 per vehicle (Indiana residents); $7 per vehicle (out-of-state residents)
