WonderLab After Dark

6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology
http://wonderlab.org

WonderLab After Dark is a 21-and-over event that will allow adults, young and old, the opportunity to experience the wonder of science while enjoying local food, beer, and wine from One World Catering, Function Brewing, and Oliver Winery.

WonderLab After Dark will allow adults to explore the Museum and check out the new major exhibition, Your Amazing Brain! In addition, there will be many special “brain” activities throughout the evening designed to engage, enlighten, and entertain. These activities will include:

• Taking a close look at a real brain with the IU Neurosciences Club.

• An opportunity to challenge a friend to a toy car race using electrical impulses in your brain to power your car around a track. Sponsored by the Indiana University Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences

• Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing R-House Robots will be on hand with an interactive face robot, MiRAE, which can see visitors and interact with them by changing its facial expressions, and PARO, a robotic seal, which responds to petting and sounds.

• The Indiana University Center for Integrated Animal Behavior will help participants see how their memory abilities stack up against those of a chimpanzee.

• The Indiana University Lilly Library will be on-hand with some of its amazing collection of puzzles, providing some fun brain teasers for all participants.

Admission to WonderLab After Dark is $15 for museum members and $18 for non-members, which includes a souvenir mini pint glass that can be used to sample various selections of local beer and wine. Tickets are available online at wonderlab.org. Attendees should bring identification for age verification.

Griffin Realty and Mira Salon and Spa are sponsoring the February 26 event. Future events are planned for May, August, and November.

Cost: $15 for Members, $18 for Non-Members
