Indiana couldn’t capitalize on the momentum it built in Saturday’s win over No. 18 Notre Dame, instead falling 92-72 to another in-state rival, Fort Wayne, Monday night, December 18, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The Mastodons (8-5) shot 62.1 percent in the second half to dominate the Hoosiers, who hit just 34.3 percent of their second-half field goals by comparison. Fort Wayne scored 29 points off turnovers (to Indiana’s 7) and 17 off the fast break to the Hoosiers’ 9.
Indiana (6-6) was led by Robert Johnson with 17 points, and Juwan Morgan added 14 while hauling down 12 rebounds.
Fort Wayne had four players in double-figures, paced by Kason Harrell with a game-high 28 points—hitting 6 of 11 from 3-point range—and Bryson Scott with 26.
The Hoosiers host Tennessee Tech this Thursday night, December 21. Tip-off at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall is 8 p.m.
