History Harvest – A Community Scanning Event

We’re at it again collecting history from the community! Dig out your old letters, photographs and documents that relate to the history of Bloomington, Indiana. Bring in up to 10 documents or photos from before 1970 that relate to town buildings, community events, schools, churches and community organizations. We’ll scan your items and collect your stories. You keep the original and the scan and story will become part of the digital archive of the Monroe County History Center.

Getting Ready for Christmas and Other Winter Holidays

Join us for a morning of arts and craft activities hosted by St. Mark’s Nursery School and Kindergarten. With a focus on re-using and re-purposing materials, the crafts are geared toward preschool and primary-age-children and include make-and-take holiday decorations and gifts that can be given to any special people in children’s lives. This free event is open to all, regardless of your faith and home culture, so please invite your friends and family and join us!

The Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers return to IU Auditorium this December for the jolliest family-friendly event of the season, Chimes of Christmas. The Singing Hoosiers deck their annual concert with a revue of contemporary songs, favorite carols, and classical choral arrangements sure to make your holiday spirits bright.

The Singing Hoosiers carry over half a century of tradition in contemporary vocal performance, and have enchanted audiences all over the country and around the globe with performances in more than 26 countries.

Featuring performances by Jacobs School of Music ensembles, the groups combine to deliver their holiday cheer to audiences in what is now a beloved Bloomington tradition.
