Wylie House by Candlelight

04:00 pm to 07:00 pm
Wylie House Museum

Wylie House welcomes our campus and local community to visit the home by candlelight in the early days of winter. Visit with docents in period attire and listen to music in the home, then stop by the Education Center for a warm drink and a children’s craft.

This year we are excited to partner with Monroe County History Center (202 E. 6th St.) for Once upon a Winter Evening: Bloomington Carols, Cabin, and Candlelight. Wylie House and the History Center will hold parallel events at the same time. We invite you to visit both venues to experience 19th century winter celebrations from different perspectives. Between the 1835 historic house and the 1840 log cabin you’ll enjoy free music, carolers, period crafts, storytelling, and refreshments.

An Important Message from Bloom Magazine

For the past 14 years, we have been publishing Bloom, a free, bimonthly cultural and lifestyle magazine serving Bloomington, Indiana, and surrounding communities. We have four missions: to support local businesses, local charities, local arts, and diversity. We are an integral part of the fabric of this community.

Like so many small businesses (4 employees), we are facing huge challenges in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to continue producing the magazine and our website, magbloom.com, but we need your help.

Please consider donating to our GoFundMe drive using the link below. Thank you!
