Yappy Hours – Yappy Howl-idays!

Yappy Howl-idays is Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1-3 p.m. at Ferguson Dog Park. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Join the fun at the howliday pawty at the dog park and have your dog’s photo taken with Santa Paws! All well-behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs must be spayed or neutered. We reserve the right to dismiss any dog for unruly activity and/or aggressive behavior. Dogs must be current with all vaccinations to attend. All dog park rules apply. Visit bloomington.in.gov/dogpark for a list of dog park rules. Proceeds from Yappy Hours events are used to help purchase Ferguson Dog Park amenities.

Bloomington Creative Glass Center’s Holiday Glass Fusing Fest

Come to our drop in workshop and make your own fused glass magnet or suncatcher. This family friendly workshop is an opportunity for anyone ages 5 and above to try glass making “on the spot” in 15 minutes or fewer.

Glass-fusing is a fun creative process that involves collaging smaller bits of glass onto a larger glass surface. Your piece will be taken to a kiln for firing and will be available for pick it up by December 13. The cost for fusing is $15 for a small piece, and $25 for a roughly 4″ x 3″ square.

Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome! We will take reservations every 15 minutes from 1:00 until 4:30.

Wylie House welcomes our campus and local community to visit the home by candlelight in the early days of winter. Visit with docents in period attire and listen to music in the home, then stop by the Education Center for a warm drink and a children’s craft.

This year we are excited to partner with Monroe County History Center (202 E. 6th St.) for Once upon a Winter Evening: Bloomington Carols, Cabin, and Candlelight. Wylie House and the History Center will hold parallel events at the same time. We invite you to visit both venues to experience 19th century winter celebrations from different perspectives. Between the 1835 historic house and the 1840 log cabin you’ll enjoy free music, carolers, period crafts, storytelling, and refreshments.
