2012 Run for the Animals

08:30 am to 02:00 pm
Dunn Meadow (corner of East 7th Street and Indiana Avenue)
http://www.monroehumane.org/runfortheanimals/index.html

As the largest community fundraiser for the Monroe County Humane Association, this event consists of a 5K Run and Family/Dog Fun Walk followed by canine and human activities in Dunn Meadow at the RFTA Festival.

Participants are encouraged to collect donations from friends, family, and co-workers to compete for a top prize package while supporting the MCHA’s mission to Lead, Advocate and Educate for Animal Welfare. Proceeds from this event account for 15% of the MCHA’s annual budget.

Run or walk as an individual or create a team.Bring Fido and walk the whole course or a shorter course just for those with shorter legs. The run will be timed by the Indiana Running Company. Dogs welcome with walkers, but not in the competitive running group. Runners will start the course first followed by walkers with dogs.

Following the Run/Walk until 2 pm, stop by Dunn Meadow and check out booths from our sponsors, vendors, and other animal welfare groups, visit with adoptable dogs from the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter, and participate in games and activities for kids, adults, and your pup. Stay tuned for complete schedule of activities including training demos, doggie obstacle and agility courses, musical sit, costume contest, and much more!

Cost: Run registration is $25 adults/$20 kids 12 and under; Festival participation is $5 for non-runners, non-fundraisers
