Mary Chapin Carpenter

07:30 pm
Buskirk-Chumley Theater
http://bctboxoffice.org/event/mary-chapin-carpenter

We are pleased to welcome renowned and beloved singer, songwriter, and performer Mary Chapin Carpenter to the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. A recipient of five Grammy awards and two Country Music Association awards, Mary Chapin Carpenter is best known for her 1992 album Come On Come On, which yielded seven hit country singles and went quadruple platinum in the U.S.

Her latest album, Sometimes Just the Sky, is a collection of songs written across the decades, recorded in bucolic western England at Real World Studios with the great producer Ethan Johns. For this album, Carpenter sat with new and old friends in a circle together in a wooden room and made music, in real time. The album displays precisely what was played and sung, all at once.

Join us for an evening of intimate and reflective songs that blend the folk, rock, and country genres, including old favorites and new tunes.
