Swing in September – Organism

Join us for a free jazz concert featuring Organism, Friday, September at 6:30 p.m. in Dunn Meadow on the Indiana University campus. Attendees may bring a chair, blanket, or food to the concerts. In the event of rain, the concerts will be moved indoors to Recital Hall.

Organism is a new quartet that explores the great sound, repertoire, and tradition of hard bop and organ jazz. The band channels members’ diverse backgrounds into a shared passion for the music. Organism members include trumpet player and bandleader Pat Harbison, Professor of Jazz Studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music; Meghan Pund, clarinetist and saxophonist; Steve Snyder, Director of Jazz Studies at DePauw University; and Sean Dobbins, Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Addison Agen is an Americana singer-songwriter best known as Season 13’s first runner up on NBC’s The Voice. Based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, the 20-year-old’s raw and heart-wrenching voice welcomes listeners of all kinds to be grateful and self-reflective. In 2019, Addison earned a four-night opening slot with Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. Her music transforms lived experiences into songs woven together with themes of nostalgia, acceptance, hopefulness and joy. Addison’s debut full-length album, When the Morning Comes, is out now on all streaming platforms.

Charlie Jesseph will open the show!

Doors open at 7pm for this reserved seating event. The estimated length of the show is 1.5 hours. Wearing a mask is strongly encouraged and appreciated!
