Community Service Organization Opportunity

Blooming Memories Thru Music, An Alzheimer’s Initiative is pleased to invite the community organizations to sponsor a screening of “Alive Inside”. The 76-minute documentary is a touching exploration of young adults sharing custom music playlists with long-term care facility residents living with Alzheimer’s. This film won the Sundance 2014 Audience Award honor and was written and directed by Michael Rossato-Bennett.

Blooming Memories Through Music has created a pilot program for 2017 which is a complimentary in home residential monthly music session offered by trained BHSN honors music Young Adults ages 16-18 of Janis Stockhouse and their trained Adult Liaison (chaperones).

Should your organization request a showing of this documentary to educate your members on the lifestyles of families living with Alzheimer’s and committing to allowing their loved elders to “age in place” within a familiar home environment…please email [email protected] with letter of interest.

Our volunteers will show the film and it may be followed by a short question and answer period by experienced dementia friendly volunteers.

The audience will be encouraged to further learn about Alzheimer’s educations, training, medical support services, IU Health Alzheimer’s Resource Center with support groups for families living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, the Annual local Alzheimer’s Walk and representatives from five memory care centers in the Monroe County and Alzheimer’s Educators will be on hand.
