Sister Act

08:00 pm
IU Auditorium, 1211 E 7th St
http://www.iuauditorium.com/

When some of the city’s seediest criminals come looking for Deloris Van Cartier, she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won’t be found—a convent!

Coming direct from Broadway, Sister Act is the feel-amazing musical comedy the New York Post calls “ridiculously fun”—and audiences around the country couldn’t agree more! This uproarious and uplifting production features original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, Enchanted), who fills it to the brim with soul-stirring gospel-inspired tunes that are built to lift audiences right out of their seats.

Based on the hit 1992 feature film, Sister Act tells the hilarious story of a wannabe disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when, after witnessing a crime, the police hide her in the last place anyone would think to look. Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. But will Deloris escape the clutches of those who hunt her, and will the newly-inspired nuns be able to save their convent from being sold out from under their holy noses?

A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, this heartwarming musical is the perfect feel-good night of theatre for audiences of all ages. So get ready to laugh, love, and be uplifted—Sister Act is reason to rejoice!

Cost: General public: $63, $53, $39; IUB students: $42, $31, $21
