The Friends of Monroe County Public Library invite you to gather via Zoom to enjoy a conversation with author and historian, James Madison moderated by Carolyn Calloway-Thomas. Madison’s latest book, The Ku Klux Klan in the Heartland, examines how, through its use of intimidation, violence, religious belief, and the ballot box, the ideals of the Klan in the 1920s have on-going implications for America today. WonderLab STEM Sundays for Families – Animation

03:00 pm to 03:30 pm
Virtual Event (Zoom)
https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJUodOitqTMjH9JeSKJMAyjHw9Fn7G9h3_1z

Join WonderLab educators for STEM Sunday and work together on a project for the whole family. This STEM Sunday we are looking at the history and science of animation. We will create some early animation tools including thaumatropes and zoetropes. We will also share resources to learn more about modern animation, including the tutorials from Pixar in a Box. Here are some of the suggested supplies to gather from your house (no problem if you don’t have some of these): round container such as a pie pan, dark paper, computer paper, scissors, tape, and a writing utensil. This is a great opportunity for the whole family or group to explore the engineering design process as well as develop STEM skills such as defining & problem solving, exploring cause & effect, and the collaborative process. This program is made possible through funding from Cook Medical. and CFC Properties.
